Life Skills at George Mason University George Mason University's Life Skills office was established for Mason student-athletes to utilize as a source for enhancing ones personal and individual achievements on and off the competitive fields of play. Life Skills is committed to fostering growth in all avenues of a student-athlete's life which in turn guides them toward becoming more successful in their endeavors through their college careers and post-college careers. Life Skills partners with both the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) in providing student-athletes an extraordinary environment that fosters principles of leadership, excellence, achievement, and diversity. The Life Skills office is located in the Recreational Sports Complex (Field House) at 4400 University Drive, Fairfax, VA. The Life Skills office is open to all student-athletes in need of assistance Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Though walk-ins are welcome, it is advised that student-athletes and visitors call to schedule an appointment.
*Monday-Friday: 9:00am-5:00pm Student-Athlete Opportunity Fund The Student-Athlete Opportunity Fund is intended to provide direct benefits to student-athletes in meeting their financial needs that arise in conjunction with participation in intercollegiate athletics, enrollment in an academic curriculum, and to recognize academic achievement. The Student-Athlete Opportunity Fund is available to student-athletes who are currently a member of an NCAA sponsored sport at George Mason University, qualify academically, and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The Student-Athletes Opportunity Fund is also available to assist student-athletes with post-graduate placement testing, and certification programs.

Mason's Life Skills program focuses on providing opportunities for student-athletes to actively learn about prospective careers and preparing for life after intercollegiate athletics. Student Resources: Giving back to your community is not only good for the community but it also provides student-athletes with a valuable education. The Life Skills program community service initiatives are geared to exposing student-athletes to the importance of serving the surrounding communities, both on and off campus.
