Mason will be the CAA Game of the Week in Four Contests

FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason men's basketball team is slated to have a minimum of six regular season games broadcast on television in the mid-Atlantic region, while the women's team will have one regular season contest broadcast locally during the 2005-06 season.

As part of an agreement between the Colonial Athletic Association and its television partners, three George Mason men's games and one women's basketball contest will be televised live on Comcast SportsNet/Mid-Atlantic (CSN/M-A) in Maryland, D.C., Virginia, Southern Pennsylvania and parts of West Virginia. CSN/M-A is available through local cable providers, DirecTV and the Dish Network. Please check local listings for the channel in your area.

Mason will be one of the featured schools on three occasions in the CAA Game of the Week, beginning with its Jan. 5 home contest versus VCU at 7 p.m. Mason will travel to UNC Wilmington for a televised contest January 21 at 2 p.m. Mason's final Game of the Week telecast will be their final regular season game against James Madison Saturday, Feb. 28 at noon on CSN/M-A.

The Patriot men begin the regular season on Thursday, November 10 against UC-Irvine in the Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament at Wake Forest. If they advance to the semi-finals at Madison Square Garden the following weekend, the games will be seen on ESPN.

Mason's television schedule tips off on December 5 with a key regional battle between the Patriots and the American Eagles in the BB&T Classic at the MCI Center in Washington, D.C. The Patriots played Maryland and Michigan State in their first appearance in the local basketball tournament last season.

Mason and ODU have partnered to produce the Wednesday, Jan. 28 match-up from the Patriot Center. That game will be televised on CSN/M-A, beginning at 2 p.m.

Time-Warner Cable in North Carolina will feature the home game against UNC Wilmington on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. The contests against the Rams (Jan. 5) and the Seahawks (Jan. 21) will also be shown on Fox Sports South.

ESPN could regionally produce the Patriots ESPN Bracket Buster men's basketball game on Saturday, Feb. 18, thus potentially increasing the number of television appearances to eight. Game time for this contest will be determined Jan. 30.

Mason's women's basketball game against Towson at the Patriot Center on Sunday, Feb. 26 will be televised at 3 p.m. on CSN/M-A.

Comcast SportsNet will also feature both CAA tournament men's semifinal contests Sunday, Mar. 5, while the CAA Championship game will be broadcast live on ESPN Monday, Mar. 6, at 7 p.m. CSN will televise the women's CAA Championship live from the Patriot Center on Saturday, Mar. 11, at noon.
