On Monday, September 10, 2007, the Patriot Club hosted the 32nd Annual Fall Golf Outing sponsored by Siemens Building Technologies at Westfields Golf Club in Clifton, Virginia. This year's event raised approximately $20,000 for the George Mason University Student-Athlete Scholarship Fund, and attracted participants including Patriot Club members, corporate sponsors, Mason administrators and staff, and supporters. The day started with the afternoon shotgun and was followed by the silent auction, cocktail hour and buffet dinner, concluding with the awards ceremony. Additionally, there were a number of raffle prizes donated by various local businesses and patrons given away to lucky ticket holders. The success of the event represented another benchmark in the Patriot Club's mission to, above all, support Mason Student-Athletes and raise money for scholarships, but also to enhance the visibility of Mason athletics by engaging individuals and businesses in the athletics program.

Additionally, strong support from the University and the Athletic Department were evident. Mason Senior Vice President Morrie Scherrens was joined by Tom O'Connor, Assistant Vice President and Director of Athletics. Also joining the field were Senior Associate Athletic Director of External Affairs, Adam Brick, and Senior Associate Athletic Director of Operations, Facilities and Administration, Mickey McDade. Additional thanks were extended to Brion's Grille as the outing lunch sponsor, Fairfax City Self Storage as the dinner sponsor, and Centre Management, the outing cart sponsor.

Prizes and awards were given to the top three foursomes and each contest hole winner. The first place foursome, representing M. Beem Jewelers, was fielded by Mike Beem, Rick Outland, Mike Williams, and Joe Gerhart. Second place went to one of the event's corporate sponsors from Johnson & Strachan, Inc., Rick Dygve, Jeff Johnson, Bill Strachan and Orval Bonds, followed by the team of Bill Lacey, Ben Crandall, Tom Post and Dr. Morrie Scherrens who claimed third.

While no golfer was able to sink a hole-in-one, there was aggressive competition for the remaining contest holes. The winner of the Closest to the Pin contest was Mike Cobb by 3 feet, 3 inches. The Straightest Drive competition was claimed by Kevin Reynolds. Lastly, on the women's side, the winner of the Longest Drive was Heather Sullenberger, and on the men's side, Marc Isaac.
